How long to fall in love?

Those are my six words.....I welcome any number of words in your response.

  1. My eldest son is 42 now and asks the same question- we tend to think it is only us women that have heartache on this path through life- but men suffer equally. You will -don't give up- somewhere there is a lid for your pot!

    1. Maybe I should have your son on here to give us the male perspective because you're right - men are often left out of the heartache conversation. Hope your son finds his match as well!

  2. I used to say I fall in love, instantly, quite often. Maybe I still do that but I don't say it anymore. It may have taken a week or a month or even a day.

I can't remember when I knew it was love, but Mrs. Jim and I were married about five months after we met. Actually I wanted to be married in December, before our February, but Mrs. Jim didn't want to be married in Leap Year. Remember Sadie Hawkins?

    1. Wow!! I love easily, too....and not just romantic love - I have a big heart in general. It's nice to hear those stories about lve that happens quickly and lasts. Thanks for fanning the flames of a romantic, Jim!

  3. I can't pinpoint when I fell in love with my husband. I liked him instantly (blind date btw) then during courtship, I noticed that he wasn't the usual flowery-type guys I usually dated but truly treated me well & not for show. To think I initially didn't want to be set up.

I didn't meet my husband until I was late 29 and married at 31 so I can relate to the sadness/frustration/anxiety/loneliness that came with waiting. Yours will come in due time. In the meantime, stay true and enjoy life.

    1. Thanks Jinky! I've often been reluctant to try unorthodox matchmaking tactics. Well, I guess they are becoming more and more orthodox as people have less and less time to meet others the "old-fashioned way." Blind dates, speed dating, online....maybe I should open myself up a bit more. Appreciate you sharing!

  4. It worked!

I hate to sound cliche - but I really do believe it happens when you aren't looking...

    1. I'm always up for a good cliche....especially when it encourages me to chill out and let life happen. :)
